June Update

It's June and the roof is on Villa Espiral. The surf looks pretty good too. Actually this picture was taken in late May, but before the rains started. Right now, it's more cloudy than this. Soon, everything will start turning green again.

Water runoff from the roof goes into the underground storage tank in the back yard.

Soon, we will begin planting the flowering creepers. If all goes according to plan, we will have a wall of flowers.

That's the storage tank. Rancho Santana has several wells that supply water to the houses here, but it's better to conserve and reuse as much as possible.

These are the renderings for the pool area. In this shot, the veranda roof is omitted to show the whole pool area. We actually modified this and got rid of the bar. The pool will go right to the edge of the veranda.

The workers are cutting the flagtone into rectangles for the flooring.

Here, the cut flagstone is being laid.

That's the kitchen bar, looking from the kitchen.

And looking from the kitchen toward the sea.

The bar is already being put to good use.

This is one of Granados Construction Company's master carpenters. I need to find out his name so I can update this blog entry.

He's working on the window frames.

Here is is installing them.

Our banana fiber furniture is almost done.

Aloha.
